2026 Theme: Stars, Stripes, and Colorado Pride

Celebrate with us at Coal Creek Canyon’s 72nd Annual 4th of July Community Event—a full day of fun that’s much more than just a parade! This year’s theme is “Stars, Stripes & Colorado Pride,” so come join us as we celebrate our nation’s independence and Colorado’s 150th year of statehood.

Enjoy a pancake breakfast, parade, lunch, vendor booths, live music, and activities for all ages, including cornhole, a pie eating contest, and a children’s bounce house.

As part of the parade, don’t miss the new neighbor vs. neighbor competition, where community members can team up and show off their creativity and spirit along the parade route.

Join the Parade

We love seeing the creativity at the parade each year—so embrace the theme and decorate a float, car, animal, or even yourselves!

As part of the 72nd annual 4th of July parade, this year’s theme is “Stars, Stripes, and Colorado Pride.” And new this year, Coal Creek neighbors can take part in the 1st Annual Most Patriotic Neighborhood Float competition! Gather your friends and family, unleash your creativity, and show your patriotic spirit.

You do not have to enter as a neighborhood to participate. You can join the parade on your own, with friends or family, or as a group and still be eligible for the traditional awards.

There are plenty of chances to win, with awards including Most Creative, Best of Theme, Best Music, Best Judge Bribe, and more—plus the new neighborhood title!

Sell at the Vendor Fair

Have something to share as a vendor at Coal Creek Canyon’s 72nd Annual 4th of July Community Event?

Each year, vendors bring a vibrant mix of arts, crafts, jewelry, cuisine, wellness products, and more, creating a unique and festive marketplace for the community. It’s a great opportunity to showcase your products, connect with local residents and visitors, and be part of a beloved canyon tradition.

Compete in Cornhole

Grab a partner and join the fun at this year’s Cornhole Tournament! As part of a full day of games for all ages, teams will compete in a bracket-style competition to see who comes out on top.

Whether you're playing or cheering from the sidelines, it’s a blast for everyone. Winners will take home a trophy and prizes—so bring your best game!

Pie Eating Contest

Think you’ve got what it takes? Join the fun in this year’s Pie Eating Contest—one of our exciting new additions to the celebration!

This crowd-pleasing event is as entertaining for spectators as it is for participants. Bring your appetite, dive in, and compete for bragging rights, prizes, and plenty of laughs.

Help make Coal Creek Canyon’s 72nd Annual 4th of July Community Event a success! This full day of celebration—from the pancake breakfast and parade to games, vendors, and live music—relies on amazing volunteers like you.

Whether you can lend a hand with setup, assist during the parade, support activity stations, or help with cleanup, there’s a role for everyone. It’s a great way to give back, meet neighbors, and be part of a fun, community-driven tradition.

Stars, Stripes, and Colorado Pride

We can’t wait to celebrate the 4th of July with our canyon community at this year’s 72nd annual event—honoring both our nation’s independence and Colorado’s 150th year of statehood!

Start your morning with a pancake breakfast from 7:00–10:00 AM, then enjoy vendor booths opening at 9:00 AM. The parade kicks off at 10:00 AM, traveling from Tunnel 19 Rd. along Gross Dam Rd. to the CCCIA Hall, and includes this year’s special neighbor vs. neighbor competition.

Following the parade, the festivities continue with food and a beer garden opening at 11:00 AM, the national anthem and flag raising at 11:15 AM, and live music and games beginning at 11:30 AM. Enjoy a classic all-American lunch, beverages, and explore 15+ local vendors offering art, crafts, wellness products, and more.

Announcements take place at noon, followed by a pie eating contest at 1:00 PM. The celebration wraps up at 2:00 PM.
