The Mountain-Ear started in 1977 when locals recognized a need within our communities to fill the void of locally created community news. Our mountain and canyon communities and businesses stretch from Estes Park to Idaho Springs. We know locals support local businesses and we support them. The Mountain-Ear is the ONLY weekly newspaper that covers all of the events, schools, governments, local stories and news of the Peak to Peak region.
We employ up to 25 paid staff and have 10 volunteers each month that make this publication happen. We also employ high school and college journalism interns during the school year.
